It started the way most love stories do — unexpectedly. A friend asked us to puppy-sit for a weekend. "Just five days," they said. Five days turned into fifteen, and by the time we returned that little fawn Frenchie to his owner, we had made a decision that would change our lives: We needed one of our own.

That decision led to another. Then another. Then the question we kept asking ourselves: Why not do this the right way? Not the factory way. Not the "breed as many as possible" way. The right way.
